I’ll never forget when our kids were much younger, one of them running into our bedroom on a Saturday morning while we were sleeping and saying, “Dad, someone wet my bed”! I said, “What?” “Someone wet my bed”. I said, “Well, no-one’s been in your bed but you; it must have been you”. “No, no, it must have been somebody else, it wasn’t me!”
Isn’t it amazing how we tend to rationalise and justify ourselves so quickly and then blame other people for what’s happening in our world? I guess this goes way back to Adam. When Adam sinned, God came and said, “Adam, what have you done?” Adam blamed Eve. Eve then blamed the serpent and of course the serpent didn’t have a leg to stand on, but that’s an old joke!
It’s so easy for us to look at things happening in our world and blame someone else for them rather than taking personal responsibility. You can’t control what happens to you and what other people will do, but you can control your responses to those things. Imagine the difference if each one of us would simply take responsibility for our lives.
Responsibility … Think about it.
Thank You Citylife for such an awesome prayer meeting on Sunday. My kids were so touched and were in tears throughout the session. My teenage son was baptized and was speaking in a beautiful language. He had such a marvelous and overwhelming experience with the Holy Spirit. He was laughing and crying at the same time. He is still ‘walking on air’. He is still so caught up and is constantly telling his siblings how much Jesus loves them. It was a special and precious moment for me as a mum. Thank you church for providing this opportunity. It is so important to allow our kids to experience such majestic presence of the Lord and ensure they are always fired up for the Lord.
Much gratitude,
